Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 available on June 12 for $399.99
Late last month, Sprint has announced adding Samsung Galaxy S3 to both of its prepaid brands, Boost and Virgin Mobile. Boost Mobile has officially announced its version couple of days ago while Virgin has confirmed it yesterday on its Facebook page. Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available on the same day and for the same price as Boost’s S3, June 12 for 399.99, excluding taxes.
The LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S3 will be compatible with Sprint’s both 3G and 4G LTE networks, and will run on LTE where available. Currently, users can get access to Sprint’s fast LTE speeds in 88 markets. The plans available with this phone are any of the Virgin Mobile’s Beyond Talk unlimited messaging and data plans. Monthly service starts at $35 per month and includes 300 voice minutes and unlimited messaging and data. The $45 plan includes 1200 voice minutes and $55 plan has unlimited service. Virgin Mobile throttles data to 256Kbps after reaching 2.5GB of 3G/4G high-speed data. If customers add mobile hotspot feature for $15 per month, the high-speed data allotment goes up to 3.5GB per month.
Besides 4G LTE support, the Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with a Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, NFC connectivity and features for sharing phone’s content as AllShare Play for sharing between other devices or One Touch Sharing for sharing between two smartphones by touching them.
