After four years of reselling Sprint wireless service, MVNO Voyager Mobile has announced that it will cease its operations. Voyager Mobile shuts down on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 by 11:00PM Eastern Time. The carrier advices its customers on its website to transfer their phone number to another carrier before September 9 because after that, they will no longer be able to make a call, send a message or use data and they will lose their phone number.
To avoid losing number, customers need to contact another carrier before September 9, inform them that they are porting from Voyager and provide the correct account name, billing address, account number and account PIN. To be able to keep the phone as well, the number should be transferred to another Sprint MVNO.
Voyager Mobile will be giving refund to customers for any unused service. They will also be able to pay for service for a few days only, until they port their number. In any case and for any help they might need, customers can call 1-855-33-VOYAGER.
Sprint has the biggest number of MVNOs to choose from so it shouldn’t be a problem to find the one that suits the needs of each customer. Some of them are TracFone’s Straight Talk and Net 10, Red Pocket, Expo Mobile, Ting, WiFi orientated FreedomPop and Republic Wireless, RingPlus with free plans and others.
